Checking a website

I checked the website http://www.buydehydratedwater.com/
Using these factors I decided the website is fake, although the fake and faulty product can be bought. I mainly decided this due to Amazon saying joke/gag item.

Other people say about it: Many people couldn't take the joke and made bad comments on                                           Amazon. Amazon does say that it is a joke/gag.

Prior Knowledge: I already know that dehydrating means taking the water out of something... which                                is not actually possible to do with water, as you are left with nothing.

Author: The author is an email registered under the name of @nospam.buydehydratedwater.com This              shows that an email was made specially for the website. The lack of something before the '@' is questionable, though.

Date: It was created on 10 september 2000, and updated on the 17th September 2012, which shows             that the website is monitored and updated regularly.

URL: The URL is the same as the website, http://www.buydehydratedwater.com/, showing it may be      real. The website has links to Amazon, which is a trustworthy website.

WHOIS search: A WHOIS search shows that it is a promising website, with owners that have email                   affiliated with the website

How to spot a fake website...

Here are three things to think about when deciding on the reality of a website:
1. Check facts on a website with facts from your knowledge.
2. Have a look at copyrights and people affiliated with the website.
3.Check for impurities or things that don't belong, such as someone only shipping to the U.S.A while the sending adress is U.K., or things like jokes on factual websites.
